Developing from the part 1 study which focuses on the counterpoints of different
ecologies, this project has extracted the gesture of interconnection and erosion. Sitting next to the existing reservoirs, the interconnected paths and the eroded
shape within created episodic blooms in a synthetic scattergram landscape.
The undulating terrain mimics the 4 ecologies and is in dialogue with the surrounding
topology.
On top of that, linear pavilions along the path and sunken spaces within the gap
both generate floated roofs above the terrain.
Sectionally, the top of the reservoir becomes the stable datum line and the pavilions
and semi-sunken spaces become two types of objects floating within the wave.
Functionally, all the sunken spaces are for the tourist center. All the pavilions along
the path are for the research center.
Walking through the site you will first notice the floating roof and then the subtle
relationship it has with the undulating terrain. The landscape edges could be occupied
as seating. When you are within the sunken area the ribbion window frame the
landscape into an organic shape.
